No, we put all of our students on an autopay system. This saves your child's spot in the program. You can cancel at any time before the next billing cycle.

Once the session has begun and/or billing has gone through, we do not offer refunds.

We do not offer trial classes as we found it disruptive. We allow visitors to observe a portion of class from our lobby, appointment required.

We recognize that doing something that is scary and overcoming it, is the number one way to build confidence. Imazaki Dojo is a safe environment that will help achieve this.

Your child will be given a Gi, uniform, upon registration. The Gi is required for every class.

One uniform is provided upon registration. Further uniforms are available for purchase.

Sparring will not happen until your child earns their blue belt.

Every student starts as a white belt and must work their way to each ascending belt level.See here..

If your child doesn't like karate at first, we ask that they give it time. It may take a month or more before your child feels comfortable at the dojo. We also ask that you let us know if this is the case, so we can work to make their experience better. We encourage all families to keep bringing their child until the 3 months commitment has been fulfilled. We think it is important to teach children from a young age accountability and commitment

We ask that parents wait in the waiting room or outside. Parents on the mat can be very distracting to our young students.

Parents can wait in the lobby or drop off and come back before class ends.

We encourage all of our students to practice outside of the dojo. We have a YouTube channel Just like a musical instrument, if students don't practice on their own, it will be difficult to master the art.See here..

Yes, we encourage every student to make up for any missed class. This must be done during the current session. Missed classes do not roll over.

We cannot give an exact answer. We appreciate the fact that all children are different. It might take one student longer to adjust or learn the kata. We advance students when they are ready. When they display the physical knowledge and the mental maturity to handle the next belt level. Every belt your child receives from Imazaki Dojo will be earned. We do not hand out belt rank just because you are paying your fees.

Yes, there are many opportunities for our students to showcase their abilities, from in house dojo tournaments to international tournaments.

We welcome beginners and just remember that everyone, even the Sensei, started as a beginner. Classes are suitable for all levels.

It is normal to be hesitant or have reservations about starting something as physical as karate. But please know it's a priority for us to make all students feel comfortable. Classes can be modified to suit all levels.

Unlike many dojos, we do not offer a set program to reach black belt. This is because we feel that all students are different. We evaluate each student and assess whether they are ready to test for the next belt level. Besides the physical curriculum, we expect students to display the characteristics that go along with higher levels of training… confidence, discipline, focus, compassion, dojo etiquette etc.
